Preview: Sapa Fehérvár AV19 - Bolzano
2014.03.09. 00:02
Sapa Fehérvár AV19 put in a huge effort in the first EBEL quarterfinal game in Bolzano last night but despite the effort finally Bolzano managed to secure an overtime victory and through that take the lead in the series.

 - It was a great game last night. Bolzano opened the scoring early with a fluky goal but we responded straight away and this set the tone for the game. Both teams had chances throughout the game and both goaltenders played well. After three periods the score was still tied and the overtime was just like the game. Both teams had great chances in the overtime and both goalies came up big again. We had two breakaways from Adam Naglich and Attila Németh but couldn't capitalize. Bolzano managed to score in overtime but this is hockey, we must have short memory and put it behind us and be ready for tomorrow - summarized head coach Marty Raymond.

There is no long rest before the second episode of this quarterfinal series, the Hungarians will host their Italian opponents in Székesfehérvár tomorrow evening.
- If our young players continue to play the way they played in the first game and if we continue with our team physicality, we will be able to get success. Bolzano has a lot of speed and good skills so we must play tight and eliminate their time and space. We will need to spend more time in front of their goalkeeper as more traffic is needed to get more offensive success - said Marty Raymond.

Sapa Fehérvár AV19's line-up will be unchanged with Attila Orbán and Viktor Tokaji still not ready to play.
